NASA officials are hosting a news conference on Monday to give updates on the Artemis II mission. The Artemis II rocket is rolling out on Saturday, no earlier than 7 a.m., from the Kennedy Space Center.

Depending on the timing, NASA could launch a fresh crew to the space station while four other astronauts are flying around the moon.

It is part of US plans to build a permanent base for humans to live on the lunar surface, and would be a huge help for future Moon and Mars missions.

NASA is taking a big step toward its next moon mission. The Artemis II rocket is set to roll out to the launch pad this Saturday at Kennedy Space Center. The massive Space Launch System rocket will make a 12-hour journey from the Vehicle Assembly Building to Launch Pad 39-B.
